Bike Adelaide lodged two submissions regarding the Adelaide City Councils proposed refresh of Wakefield St. We are very concerned that the plans present no significant change to the streets layout, particularly with the bike lanes remaining in their current location between parked and moving vehicles. Changing to a truly bicycle friendly street need not be expensive as both our submissions show. There are two to read, the first one presents our argument and solutions to make the street truly cycle friendly. The second presents a technical discussion which highlights the Councils deviation from Australian standards.
